Best Packing Techniques for your Orlando Trip

When it comes to packing tips, the biggest question to be answered has got to be:
Should you fold or roll your clothes to save more space? If you do a quick Google search, you will find countless blog posts and videos “proving” which one of these methods is “once and for all” the best one! Well, today we are here to put this debate to rest and tell you that you should do… BOTH!

You should roll all items that are made of a lightweight material like gym clothes, synthetic fabrics, and PJs, for example. Also, roll out the tank tops and t-shirts that are made of fabrics that won’t crease easily.

Then, you will want to fold more formal garments and materials that would be too bulky once rolled out such as jeans and cotton. Make sure you fold clothes that wrinkle easily in a “sandwiched” way where you place other items in the middle of the item you are folding to avoid a harsh folded-in-half crease.

Now that you know how you should place each item in the bag, let’s go over the three things you should avoid packing for your Orlando trip to help you save tons of space in your luggage:

Pool towels: If you are staying with us at the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa, we provide free pool towels that are conveniently available right by the pool. So, forget bringing your own pool towel, as that would likely take up a huge portion of your suitcase.

Sunscreen: You will need PLENTY of sunscreen while visiting Orlando, so forget about packing your own bottle or trying to place sunscreen into smaller travel-friendly containers. You can stop at any convenience store, pharmacy or market to grab a bottle of sunscreen once you arrive. It most likely won’t be any more expensive than buying it in the city you are traveling from. Plus, you’ll avoid having to worry about possible spills.

Ponchos/ Umbrella: I am sure you heard that the weather in Orlando can be a bit unpredictable. Passing showers are customary during summer afternoons, for example. But the theme parks offer incredibly cute ponchos for purchase, so there’s no need to bring your own. If you are on a budget, you can purchase ponchos in advance at any gift shop or Walmart in town for less than they are sold for in the parks.

If you eliminate just these three items from your bags, you can save a lot of precious space in your luggage. That is true especially if you were planning to bring towels and ponchos for each person in your party! We hope you enjoyed these tips, and we look forward to seeing you soon at the Lake Buena Vista Resort Village & Spa.
